Broadbiz Web Services Ltd. was formed on 15th December 2005 in Broadstairs, Kent by husband and wife, Ian and Pippa Lodge. The focus of the business was to assist local businesses to make the most of the internet and that focus remains to this day despite the fact that our customer base has increased significantly since then.
We have always placed ourselves and our business in the heart of the Broadstairs community. We have given our time to many projects over the years to help those around us which in turn benefits our business, helping it to grow.
We are currently hosting 350 domains across over 160 websites as well as 100s of email addresses. Amongst our websites are a growing number of eCommerce website as our clients take advantage of selling their products and services online.
Ian's background is in IT development and support services in central Government in London working primarily with Oracle database products. Having graduated from City University in 1992, Ian worked for the Department of Trade and Industry before leaving in 2010 to concentrate full-time on Broadbiz.
Away from Broadbiz, Ian enjoys spending time with his wife and kids, playing golf, refereeing, coaching and watching rugby as well as getting involved in local business issues in the Broadstairs and St Peters Chamber of Commerce, Thanet Business Network, Broadstairs Information Kiosk and Thanet Wanderers RUFC.
Lewis has worked with Broadbiz since August 2012. He is a hard-working individual who began as an apprentice and has since worked his way up to become a full-time web developer developing many skills along the way.
Ever since he joined, he has played a vital role in the development of a variety of client website and the day-to-day running of the business.
Lewis has always had an interest in the IT sector but decided on a web developer based career path after joining us. Lewis works with many website technologies and languages including HTML, CSS, PHP & MySQL.
He also has a vast amount of experience with Opencart, Wordpress and Payment Gateway Integrations. Almost everyone that deals with Broadbiz will meet and speak to Lewis throughout the development process of client websites and for future requirements/changes.
Outside of work, Lewis enjoys socialising with friends and playing various sports such as football & pool.
Jamie started working for Broadbiz as an apprentice in May 2015 and has been progressing in his web development career ever since. Most clients at Broadbiz will come in contact with Jamie as he develops new websites and makes changes to existing ones.
Whilst Jamie is out of the office, he enjoys practicing and performing magic as a hobby as well as spending time with friends and family.
Jonathan started working for Broadbiz as a web developer in 2015. He is responsible for creating new websites from scratch and making changes to existing websites. Jonathan also creates dynamic webpages that allow our clients to maintain and alter certain elements of their website.
Jonathan has always had an interest in the IT industry and created his first website for a school project at the age of 15. Since then he has been improving his development skills and techniques.
Since joining Broadbiz he has learned the techniques behind creating consistent, SEO friendly websites and has a strong knowledge of HTML, PHP, CSS and MySQL.
Ryan started working for Broadbiz as a junior web developer in April 2017 and has been progressing his web development ever since. Most Broadbiz clients will encounter Ryan as he develops new websites and makes changes to existing ones.
Some of the technologies that Ryan uses at Broadbiz include HTML, CSS, PHP, MySQL and Photoshop.
Out of work, Ryan's hobbies are playing and watching football and spending time with his family and friends.
Pippa's background has been in office management since leaving school, once again in central Government in London for the Department of Trade and Industry.
Pippa has been involved with Broadbiz since day one and is responsible for all the business paperwork, finance and customer relationship management.
Broadbot joined the Broadbiz team on 1st June 2017 and is fast becoming a popular team member.
Broadbot's role will be to become a key part of the social media campaign as well as to advise human members of the team on everything robot.
