Club History & Other Information

The Club's Short History

Broadstairs Bulldogs ARLFC (Amateur Rugby League Football Club) are based in Broadstairs in the Isle of Thanet, East Kent and were formed in the Spring of 2005 by the three then club officials, Phil Sykes, Ben Bryant and Michael Simmonds. The Bulldogs went on to top the London League table and win the Grand Final in the first season in 2005, beating Colchester Romans 40-14.

The Bulldogs were then promoted to the Regional Conference South in which they are competing in season 2006

The Bulldogs are coached by Phil Sykes, the son of former Hull FC professional Cyril Sykes. Club Secretary is Michael Simmonds and Mike has recently taken over the captaincy after last year's captoin Ben Bryant returned to Australia where he is still taking a keen interest in the club's progress.

All of the Bulldogs' home games are played at St. Peter's Recreation Ground in Broadstairs and kick off at 2.30pm on a Saturday afternoon.

For further information about the Bulldogs, please see our News page where you can register for updates.
